I enjoyed my time at Omni. Had a great time and meant a lot of great people. It was a lot different back when I was there. You have to make the best of it.

Nope. We are a virtual flight simulator company. Resumes are welcome for xplane B767 and B777 pilots now.

I used Pro Diem. $59 and worth every penny. They have a widget that you use to upload your "detailed format" directly from AIMS.

I used Pro Diem, and it did not help at all...because I am in the Middle Class with a large AMT (Alternative Minimum Tax) penalty...any deductible items that lowers my regular tax owed, raises my AMT taxes owed by the same amount, so none of our business expenses help us at all.

The AMT may start to affect your taxes if you make around $65K....and the chances of AMT go up more and more...until you reach around $450K...and then there is no AMT....It is a middle class tax.

Kind of quite here.

Any more interesting news with Omni's potential growth? How are things going with hiring and new aircraft.

Where are the new hires going lately (76 or 77)? Any increase in the amount of flying? Any more word on new flying contracts? Hows the attrition been very lately?

Thanks in advance

Don't think they're hiring? I just checked again and nothing posted on their website. With AMC hurting, I doubt there will be much growth? Hope they make it through these hard times! Cheers..

They're no doubt hiring for attrition. Case in point: I was there 2.5 years, and was about 9 months junior to the junior CA. A little over a 3 year upgrade on a widebody should tell a story, especially due to the fact that they'd shrunk from 14 to 9 airplanes while I was there.

It's not the worst place to be (I was relatively happy there due to having decent seniority in my seat), but it's not a long-term gig at all, unless you like the abuse (not that there's anything wrong with that!). Heck, I'd probably still be there if they even made an attempt to treat you like a person, but they don't even try to make you feel like a valued employee. Instead, Omni is losing massive amounts of experience to companies who are better prepared to attract labor.

It's not even really the pay that drives most people away...it's the fact that they treat you like a piece of office furniture. I've sat 6 hours in the terminal after an operating flight without a hotel or VIP lounge, simply because it wasn't in our contract to provide one. They simply don't care.
