Word from the B777 school house is 2 new hires have left training for personal reasons and one was removed for performance issues. Late March class went from 8 invites to 1 accepting. My opinion is the lack of competent leadership is starting to be sensed by the new folks on property. This is what you get when you can only afford to bring in outsiders to fill management positions. They don't know the operation, they don't know the people that helped build the company, and they show their lack of experience with operational decision making on a daily basis. Omni is not a sustainable operation, so come and get the type and run. You have been warned.

My guess as to the personal reasons why the 2
new hires left,

-Personally witnessed management’s incompetente

-Personally observed how small the paycheck is

-Personally met the pretentious Director of Training

-Personally exposed to the poor quality of life.

There are more….

I'm retiring in December. Looking for something part time only. Can you do that at Omni?

I get it why you guys want to tell a story about the downfall of Omni, but the quality of life in my experience as an FO has been excellent. Even my wife said she likes this job. Lots of things need to be addressed, but QOL is pretty good

If you're retiring as a pilot (you list yourself as a 737 F/O now), returning as a pilot would have to be done under age 65, meaning you can't be retiring due to age.

You could certainly see if a 121 operator is willing to put you through the two months of initial training and the recurrent training, only to get half the use out of you (assuming you're under 65).

It appears that pilots are running away from Omni, rather than toward, and given recent history of letting new hires quit their jobs and come train for two months, before letting them go three hours before their type ride, etc, it might be a risky investment of time or effort.

Quality of life is, by definition, a relative term.

If you consider not having a set schedule or knowing if your going home on your days off

trip trading is unheard of

deadheading 4 hours in the middle seat of a packed company airplane after a18 hour duty day,

and then not having transportation or a hotel reservation upon arrival to minimum rest,

I could go on, but I’ll leave it at that

if you consider that good quality of life, right on.
You’re entitled to your opinion

If you’re looking for the charter side post 65 retirement that is a different company and not on this thread. The 121 is standard ACMI and pre age 65 retirement you would be required to give the company the same days as anyone other line holder.
