I hope for that as well, for myself and for everyone.
is Omni likely to survive or should we be keeping our options open, not just for the legacy carriers but for more stable ACMI carriers? (Atlas and Kalitta *seem* stable.. maybe I'm wrong ? WGN and ATI don't seem stable at all.. National appears to be ok but works their pilots past their breaking point)

At least this guy didn't wait until they were new-hires within two hours of their checkride, before sending them packing.

One wonders how an operator like Omni is going to get anyone to show up for a class, if they keep pulling these stunts. Seems a bit of a reputation-killer.

Hopefully those who were given conditional job offers hadn't turned in their notices at their existing jobs.

I highly doubt they’re going to continue to get any applicants if even a CJO doesn’t get you into class. Some of these guys had months between interview and class dates.

Could’ve kept them in the pool or offered reasoning but as far as I’m yet aware there’s nothing.

Yikes - my Feb 7 class date was changed to the Mar 25 date after I had already given notice at my last job. Finding out that the CJO was rescinded after a 7 week delay could be rough.

You know full well the person that made the decision above is still at Omni. Nothing to do with the new VP of Flt Ops or the old VP of Flt OPs. DR is hedging his bets that the those with CJOs will get cancelled, thus not needing new hires. The summer is comming and flying will be reduced just like it is every summer. Instead of plannin for the fall and being staffed, they'll just pay holdout/callout like always. The wonderful merry-go-round of Omni.

Omni, under current management, is by any definition a train wreck, and not the shadow of its former self.

Considering the many opportunities available to pilots these days, applying to, or staying at Omni is very possible one of the worst career choices one could make.

It's so sad to see what is happening at OMNI. Not to long ago it was a pretty good place to work. But without a doubt after ASTG took over it has turned into a flying mess

The turn over in Crew scheduleing and travel is never ending. They let some long time employees in Tulsa go on Presidents day. And now no pilot contract this year.

What a way to run a Airline

Omni Air International is traveling the same path as American Trans Air, World Airways, and North American. Once the origional owners sold to large investment houses or SEC corporations those companies faded slowly away into history. Eastern will be the next up and becoming supplemental. Omni has been sent to the old folks home by the ATSG family and will die.

unless fundamental changes are made, I believe you’re correct.

The calls went out on March 1st. I believe you are probably ok if you haven't heard anything by now (just a guess), unless something else comes up before then. Good luck
