CBA’s don’t end or expire. They just become amendable under section 6 rules. They can be amended before then by LOA at anytime. I think we’re on the same page.
ATSG already has been using our training center for classes for both sister companies. Omni has definitely changed since the purchase. Some things are better, some aren’t. Operationally, not many obvious changes, but lots of behind the scenes stuff. We owned our planes before. It cost us nothing to park one when contracts slowed; now we lease them from CAM. No flying, still have a lease payment. It’s just a money shuffle for ATSG, but to a moderator Omni isn’t making as much money…. If at all. It’s a shell game they all play. The required profit margin the company required per contract was lowered by ATSG as well…. After all, we have lots of lease payments now….
we’re all stuck together with the same master playing one against the other. If ATI weren’t ALPA, i’d like to have seen a single carrier petition or at least a merged pilot list. We could have done that now by fencing everybody currently on property, and all new hires go on a single list. With them being ALPA it’s more difficult. Eventually when all us old guys are gone, it’s a single list. Inter-company exchange (ICE) rules woukd beca good start too. Go over to any sister company with your company longevity, (not pilot list longevity) until it’s just single list folks.

12 percent DC
Heard from a friend who is friends with a friend who knows a van driver that Kallita is opening their contract early and offering a 12 percent DC due to the extreme pilot attrition rate.
Any bets on ATSG management following suit and matching or exceeding this?
Or is ATSG management doomed to repeat the same old airline management failed labor relation tactics that they are renowned for exceeding at?
I guess firing pilots the day before their check rides is par for the course at Omni/ATSG.

Spite is ATSG's favorite recipe for negotiations. They wont budge, or even show up to negotiate in good faith, no seriously, theyre not even showing up. They intend to exploit the CBA and involuntarily extend us at every juncture to circumvent the staffing shortage...... Buyer beware. No sensible pilot will come to Omni with this mgmt team at the helm. Thank god the deck chairs can float......

I hear lots of gloom and doom on these threads. I haven't been here for long, but I've enjoyed it. I worked 14 days this month including my home-based travel. The job so far has been exactly as advertised. Obviously, we need a new contract and it's currently difficult to attract pilots. Our attrition seems moderate at this point. From my view there are a lot of people who still enjoy working here. Did ATSG not show up for the mediation that they filed for? I often hear people telling me to jump ship to go work 18 days a month plus commuting for other random companies. Doesn't make much sense to me. Am I missing something? If you have evidence that Omni is circling the drain... by all means, please share it.
