That's pretty much what I'm saying. I came here for the home basing and will be staying for the home basing. It won't be going away with the Dod stuff anyway you cut it. I'm not opposed to adding different types of flying to the company, in fact that's smart, provided the pay is REALLY good. Some people would jump on it, or apply here to do it. A revolving door of people will continue to come here and go to UPS. How about we make something for them to stay? How about that additional revenue be something that can bump up our abysmal retirement across the board? I'm only interested in the DOD flying personally. We did vacations Hawaii for example with a Vegas base. I wasn't interested in it either but some people were all about it. Surely something can be worked out.

Nope, no jumpseating & crashpads; that dog don't hunt. That's a foot in the door that should not be opened. If they want Fedex/UPS style flying, apply there.
Look, they applied for this cargo contract bid with our CURRENT labor contract. They would not have applied if it were not profitable. They need to stop looking at employee wage/compensation/benefits cuts as a means to increase profits. It's already profitable or they wouldn't have bid it.
NO, to domicile basing. It's as simple as that.
Finally, we should stop discussing this on a public BBS. I know from personal experience dealing with Ford & Harrison that they DO monitor this stuff, they do have accounts on here, and they will toss stuff out just to get a gauge on stuff. DO NOT PLAY THEIR GAME

Why would we give a millimeter? You’ve completely misunderstood what he said. The company put the cargo ops thing out there to try to pressure the union into giving into their negotiation demands. He’s saying if they want to do this cargo crap then they better come to the table with industry leading compensation and work rules. For the cargo segment. Comparing our contract to FedEx and UPS’s as opposed to the other ACMI’s.
I can guarantee you one thing no matter how much the company pushes home basing will never be gotten rid of here. You take one look at our seniority list and where everyone is “based” at and you’ll figure out why. A contract without home basing will be voted no instantly by >85% of this pilot group.

The company had already agreed to company travel for VH pilots then the program cancelled.......

The union hasn't and won't discuss future flying prospects. They should be NEGOTIATING with the company. I blame the union as much as the company.

My union speaks for Me.
The place to speak to them about what you'd like is via email, or a phone call, not here. Their email addresses are all right on our union website.

You're putting the cart before the horse, whipping it in public, and then blaming the horse for not doing it your way.
Just stop. Stop bargaining in public. Stop telegraphing the company what you'd accept or expect and stick to informing your representatives. I'll be happy to debate you in a PM, feel free.

[QUOTE=pitchtrim;3599746]I have talked to them. If you ask them if they've asked for the financial gains, they'll say no. They might speak for you but they don't speak for me.[/QUO
Such an obvious Ford and Harrison plant/management plant. Do not fall for this trolling. I have seen these internet tactics from them at another airline.
The Union speaks for all pilots.
Might be time for authorizing a strike vote to show solidarity.
