What simulators does Omni have? Did they get moved under ATS (Airborne Training Services)?
At ABX, we no longer have priority access to "our" simulator because it was transferred to ATS. I'm pretty sure I saw a bunch of Omni crews scheduled in it last month. But all of our recurrent training is still done in that simulator. The initials and upgrades get sent to Miami or Dallas if the Wilmington simulator is booked.
As for Omni becoming ATI, it may be "just a matter of time", but that matter is likely to take a long, long time - like on a geological scale long. ABX acquired CHI almost 17 years ago. CHI merged with ATI 11 years ago. We are still quite separate and distinct with no signs of that changing, notwithstanding Bubba's proclamation (at least six years ago) of an imminent announcement that ABX would be merging with ATI to form "Air Transport Express (ATX)".

the only way I'd ever recommend envoy is if you live within callout drive time to DFW or ORD. Every other base they've opened or closed without warning. Living n base at a regional makes it almost an entirely different job. Never ever commute for envoy.
that said, it varies if you're talking new hire FO with zero 121 experience or a DEC. the DEC contracts aren't bad at all. The FO ones vary. You'd be surprised though, most of the better regionals have some type of contract now, even if it's only a 1-2 year training payback.

Didn’t say I was planning on leaving. I was only asking the question since so many people here basically mandated that I find somewhere other than Omni to be at as fast as I can.
Never been one to bail from an opportunity that has been presented to me. Each place you land is only as good as your attitude you have while there.

I wouldn't send my worst enemy to envoy....... The recruiters talk a great talk but it's all bull.

If you can live in base, and not commute, a regional isn't that bad at all. Looking at the AA pairings vs the Republic and Envoy pairings they aren't that different. Some of the mainline flights are longer legs, but they still do 3-4 leg days with sits. The longer legs are 1 or 2 and done, but the rest look pretty much like a regional schedule these days. All that changes is the pay/retirement, some better work rules, some worse work rules, and better non-rev priority on your own AA/AE branded flights. If you are younger, gettng to the mainline is a no brainer. If your older, a Direct Entry Captain job if you live in base is actually a really good gig. I know for a fact that at least one regional has been putting out 200% days about 1/2 of each week. That's over $430 an hour for a senior RJ CA. It's tempting, especially with the temporary mainline hiring slowdowns.

These the same two who were used as examples on the forum of "people leaving for greener pastures" to make over 450k a year?
