Is it still legal in Memphis to take someone out and hang him?

The one thing that you can always be sure of is that someone who claimes to be 'open minded' is only open to his own ideas.

We are all independent contractors who have come together and formed a union for the legal protections that it provides... that doesn't not mean that we have given up our right to individual thought or a differing opinion from conventional wisdom. It also doesn't mean our leadership is always right, no matter how well intentioned (i.e. objecting to Capt RFO)!! The Sig ltr is a good document and I agree with it as written..The additional unwritten action is unnecessary IMHO. We are not arm twisters. I show my support everyday by wearing my ALPA pin...no hat or lanyard!!!

All you have to do is display a different opinion and you have latent sexual frustration. Question/ challenge the accepted and you can't possibly have an open mind. Many pilots read these forums and Its necessary for especially the junior members to see that there isn't just one mindset. There are many ways to see any issue......Think for yourself and let others enjoy the privilege of doing so too!!! Voltaire

Surely Voltaire didn't want an imbecile thinking for himself?

Voltaire also said, 'pain is the best teacher.' You must learn the hard way.
Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

Any idea who said, "How fortunate for leaders that men do not think."?

The Sig ltr of Agreement doesn't say that only reserves should fly disputed prgs. Not flying DP prgs is a show of support for the SIG...similar to buying a hat and wearing a lanyard was a show of support for the Negotiating committee. Each individual has a right to decide.
Open mind? Your lack of appreciation for past precendent and history is alarming.
I do have an open mind, but you lack an understanding of how a unified membership creates more power than a bunch of independent contractors.
You have a right to choose alright. (sarcasm on) You also have a right to choose to be a nonmember.....Wouldn't that be so liberating! (sarcasm off)
Being a member of a group entails some sacrifice for the good of the whole. If your logical "open mind" leads you away from that path, so be it. But don't lecture us on how smart you are about it. We know we are making sacrifices. Kinda like buying goods somewhere other than Walmart and paying a little more just to keep local Mom and Pop businesses going. If you live in a small town, its helping to support your neighbor's or your scout master's business.
But I digress...Maybe its the wine talking tonight.
