Logbook Pro w/ APDL
Anyone have any thoughts on Logbook Pro with the Airline companion? Is it easy to use? Are schedule downloads user friendly? The trial seems descent, but hard to tell if it saves time or not. TIA

I love it. It is easy to use. Schedule downloads aren't bad for me - I'm not sure how your company does it. Basically what I do is copy and paste trip info into the schedule importer, then select the date that the trip starts on the PDA. I don't use it so much for the pay computations...I'm still trying to figure out that part of it and how to enter the specifics of my contract into the program. Besides, it's easier for me to see how badly they screw up my pay by pen and paper. However, the logbook function is great. I don't keep a paper log anymore - I enter the data into APDL while the other guys are filling out their red books, and when I get home from a trip I sync into LBP, and I'm done. The next time I interview (which won't be for a while) I'll order the printing service and a binder to make it all look pretty. I don't necessarily care for the owner of the company, but I like his software.

I've been a user of LBP for five years, APDL for four, and I agree with everything schoolio wrote. It was marginally more useful when I was flying the Dash, because of the six/seven/eight-leg days, but you simply can't beat the convenience. If you can afford it, get it!
