Jan bid packet is out and there are 125 total lines compared to 118 in December. There are, however, way more reserve lines. There are 20 R2 lines, of which there is no need for more than a handful in the DHL system- so there are a bunch of reserve lines that clearly aren't DHL and 7 more total lines than we had in Dec (before the Amazon flying was "gone"). I'm just a new guy so someone correct me if I am misinterpreting that.

I personally think management is now playing a dangerous game and it just may backfire on them in 1 of 2 places. Court or the seniority list. Games like that will have people looking elsewhere for work and that's not that difficult in today's environment. Unless the goal is to dwindle down the seniority list.
Time will tell.

To me, it looks like they are holding back flying, (which, correct me if I'm wrong, would be another violation of the CBA) so that they can have everyone on reserve and assign trips without paying the Emergency Reassignment pay.

As Reactivity said, uniforms (other than pilot shirts) are covered by the company. If you leave before your first anniversary then it comes out of your last paycheck.
Training is good. The instructors want you to succeed...nobody is trying to bust you. They sent me to MIA for sim, so I only had to get lodging in ILN for 3 weeks (indoc and systems). If they send you to DEN or MIA, they provide hotel and per diem.

First and foremost, Congrats on the successful strike! 2 out of 3 grievances settled is AWESOME!!
So was it just urban legend that ABX had the highest washout rate of any airline ever? A friend told me that in the 1990's, they FAA actually looked into them and US Check/Airnet as their failure rate was so high... Figuring that there was either a problem with the hiring department or the training department at these carriers. And I heard about a new hire getting fired on their first ride for saying "flaps up" instead of "flaps zero" or vice versa.?. Kinda sounded like BS to me.
Also, there was a rumor about a group of Aryans creating an Empire in the training department and giving the impossible checkride...
Fact or fiction?

ABX (Airborne) always had a hard on for checklist discipline. In honesty and going forward I will take that with me into the afterlife and beyond They have the best checklist discipline ever!

There are more Captains and First Officers in the Jan bid pack so the obvious thing is to make more lines. As for Miami flying the company has always played that as ad hoc flying, except of course for the DHL trips, and will continue to do so more now than ever before to keep us all guessing. Remember there was no Miami flying in December lines outside of DHL either. And with continuos talk about that flying going away after SAS was bought out makes those flights even more unpredictable.

They certainly had that reputation, and they are still sticklers for good checklist discipline, but every instructor that I had in initial worked very hard to equip us to succeed.
