15-20 years for upgrade. 17 days = 17/19 nights/mornings/days (if you don't get a back to back month, maybe you will get 34 days/nights or more in worst case schedule ) and depending on how well you recover from the duty/schedule/Time Zone issues it may seem much longer. You 'may' be able to get an 8 on/9 on type schedule. It will be hard on your health no matter what (just harder doing it on the back side of the clock). Think about that also. Family comes first. But, of course you also gotta make some coin. Good Luck in your decision!

Regional pilot here, CRJ7 typed, roughly 2,000+ turbine still lacking TPIC. Worked at ABX from 2003-2008 in sort and ramp out of ILN prior to the DHL mess. Just moved back to ILN and am flying out of ORD with American Eagle/Envoy. With the Amazon flying coming into the picture, would it be a good move to move from pax flying to cargo? What's the outlook at ABX? Still hiring? What's QOL like for ABX guys who live local to ILN/CVG? Thanks in advance.

These posts can be summarized as follows:
" I want to make a lot of money but I don't want to be away from home"

If you want to play you are going to pay. Just the reality.

That's not going to be an accurate number.

31/200 are over 60.

62/200 are over 58.

120/200 are over 55.

185/200 are over 50.

Latest Captain upgrade made it down to 23 out of roughly 100 on the FO list.

(The 200 number is before any new hires.)

So would you say that 5-10 years would be a good guess? Thanks

This is a good of a guess as any. When I was hired 22 years ago I was senior enough to be captain in 5ish years.

Are they doing the Amazon flying or was it their other ATI certificate? Or are they the same?

ATI and ABX are both flying the Amazon contract.

Anyone else interviewing July 18th? I'll be flying into CVG on the 17th and renting a car if anyone needs a ride.

Did the interview recently, nice people very friendly and willing to answer all the questions. Everything is smooth and they are very relaxed. Lots of HR questions and TMAAT. DC8 sim well is old and it's a sim so theres that, they are not looking for perfection. Looks like they are going to be very busy soon.
