Hello. Looking for some up to date info. I have an interview lined up and want some info on how things are working.
Does company pays for hotel during training ?? I have read previous post that says they do and others that they don't.
Also is there minimum pay and or per diem during training?
Appreciate the accurate info. Thanks!!

Did the interview today. Everything mentioned previously is pretty much spot on. Lots of HR questions, and TMAAT. The CP did ask some technical questions about compulsory reporting points, what I would do with an engine failure in a couple scenarios, and snuck in a holding question.

The Sim portion was in the DC-8, and was very straight forward. They give you about 30-40 minutes to go over the procedures and call outs for T/O, steep turns, hold, VOR DME 22R, missed approach, ILS 22R. They are looking for a good instrument scan, and to see if your trainable. Honestly I loved the sim portion, it gave me an even bigger respect for the guys who flew her for real. Mike was extremely nice, and made me feel right at home.

Overall it was a great experience, and everyone was very nice. I'm hopeful to receive the good news, and excited to possibly work there.

I have an interview coming up too! Excited! couple of questions:

Full pay during training?

How are the benefits?

Does ABX have jumpseating with all of the airlines or are there any big ones missing?

I haven't flown 121 for a while now. Is anything different from 2007 that I'd need to know for an interview? I know ABX doesn't use the new rest rules

What can I do to prep for the dreaded DC-8 sim?

Yes if you're commuting on one of our airplanes. Just have to make up the trip obviously.

Top of my head here's where you can commute out of on our airplanes-
LAX
SEA
EWR
JFK
BWI
MIA
ATL
DFW
MCO
HRL
HNL

Thanks for that. Does anyone commute on other than ABX flights? I'm looking at a pretty decent commute.....however it would be on a regular scheduled 121 carrier as ABX does not cover my area.

I am not sure what their policy is now. They allowed it for a while then didn't allow it. I think they're allowing it again but not 100% sure.
