Jesus ****. Do you read any of these threads? Do you understand what an ACMI carrier does? Get back to me when you figure it out. I'll send you the schedule otherwise you are wasting forum space.

We only have one European run right now. The reserves get it some. You'll occasionaly get a nice 4 day weekend like YVR or HNL. Just doesn't happen very often.

Just count on Mexico City, Monterey, QRO, Lima, Panama and the islands out of Miami.

You keep saying "overnights". One wonders if you really understand what ABX, ATI, Atlas, etc. does.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I live on the West Coast and you generally work 12-14 hours. So if I commute in and go to the East coast I leave my house around 5:00-5:30 pm and get into the hotel around 5:00 am my time. Around 12 hours of work. West Coast or Mexico I'll get in anywhere from 8:00 to 10:00 so a little longer day. You get a night off on the West coast, Mexico, SJU, Panama trips. Except a couple of ball buster trips that depart out of Miami and LAX.
Hope this helps you understand the job.

Guys, remember what is interviewing. Regional, low time pilots who are using ACMI carriers to punch their tickets. Their lack of understanding and research shows glaringly at the interview. You are wasting your time trying to explain. I'm currently mentoring a new hire who is one of us "dogs". I don't have to explain **** to him....... There is still hope!

I kind of feel like asking questions in here *is* researching. Its not like there is a wealth of information on abx floating around out there- everything is 15 years out of date and their website tells you nothing at all. Nor are there thousands of employees to draw info from- just a tightnit group of mostly older guys that have worked there for a very long time and kind of exist in a bubble, frankly. Thats not a good thing or bad thing necessarily, its just intimidating to outsiders. That said, there are some pretty simple things being asked... Anyways, I hope everyone at ABX doesnt feel like they are somehow holier than thou because theyve been doing the job for 20 years and new guys are trying to understand a relatively niche part of the industry before jumping in. That would be a tough environment for a huge chunk of new guys to adapt in.

I'm already ACMI and was ondemand freight before that, so I 'get it' as far as lifestyle is concerned. What I dont get is the attitude being shown guys who aren't familiar with it. ABX and Atlas are not the same gig. Atlas has some similar flying, but the entire operation runs very differently and it is pretty hard to nail down exactly what goes on day to day at ABX. I'm slowly starting to piece it together, mostly from this thread and a couple of friends in the industry, so thanks for the info that has been shared.
