ABX Air Hiring
#161
Thanks for sharing. I would love to see an actual schedule. When you're bidding, do you bid on days off only, or do you get to bid on already built lines? Also, dumb question: If you work 17 days in a row, do you still get a couple of days off in between? (I'm thinking about the 6x1 FAA rule....)

ABX recent experience
Hi Folks,
Has anyone had recent experience with application for ABX, and subsequent time frame for a call, or a TBNT, email. Just curious, I feel competitive with wide body/heavy, ACMI/pt 121 supplemental experience, and hoping for opportunity to interview.
Thanks, and safe journies,
Sushi

The union did NOTHING to help the furloughees and even ACTIVELY worked to prevent the senior furloughees from having opportunities to be recalled. Not to mention, with PILOTS ON THE STREETS, ABX pilots happily worked a bonus five years, flew days off and refused seven-figure buyout offers. Greediest group I've ever known.
On the other hand, at ATI, the day the first pilot was furloughed (an ABX guy, btw) all ATI pilots stopped OT flying!

WOW. I believe it was mentioned in an earlier post that last year enough OT was done to cover the recall of 25 pilots.
If the most junior Captain is 1992 ( according to APC ), that means 204 an hour was not enough ( almost 170000 per year ) for the pilots on the property to do not accept OT and that way, maybe few pilots would have been recalled back ( also understanding majority dropped off seniority list ).
On another topic I hear rumors that if Omni or Atlas pilots ( or other 767 qualified ) are willing to switch ships, a second year pay will be waiting for them. That's from a couple of pilots from mentioned companies. Is it right? Hope ABX doesn't have two pay scales: one for 767 qualified drivers ( second year pay ) and the rest just first year.
I hope not

I'm assuming you are at ATI. Just a couple of points: the furloughee issue of which you speak was established in the CBA. For good or bad it was what it was. If you are former ABX then either you voted for the CBA or against it. It passed.
Now for the fun one: ATI's Mec delayed negotiations with the company in order to secure raises for anyone over 12 years of seniority ---thus creating a B-scale without having to negotiate for it! You were talking about greed I believe!

ATI does not have a B scale- every pilot gets a pay bump every year until they get to 12 years at which points the hourly pay freezes- for everyone. To make up for that at year 13 the pay increase comes in the form of lump sum payment based on longevity (post-ratification). For year 13 you get 2%, year 14 you get 4%, year 15 you get 6%, etc....The same pay rules apply to everyone. Many senior pilots went many years without any pay raise at all and only started getting the 2% lump sum a year after contract ratification. This year everyone who was at 12 years when the contract was ratified will get 8%. Because it's based on ratification date a 16 year Captain makes exactly the same as our 27 year Captain, so it really didn't fully address the problem.
It's a hokey setup and I'm sure you Sky-Gods would never go for such a thing, but at least now everyone gets a pay increase after year 12.
