We have a fleet Captain assigned to the 777 and is maintaining dual quals on the 747 and 777. I believe there are 5 others doing the same thing.
We can't staff the 767 and 747 fleets at the moment so bring on the third type would be a disaster.

For all the K4 guys trolling or participating in this discussion. If you want help getting on at 5Y let those of us who have transplanted help you! Yes this is an open invitation, just let me or one of the others know and we will do what we can. It appears that intern recs do help.

Default Regional to Cargo

Hey all, 2yr FO here looking for advise and curious about doing long hauling. I have always been interested in flying overseas and this kind of flying. The struggle to leave a good regional to try and get on with these airlines, or wait and try for a major and do it later in life is real!

Do you need long haul or cargo exp for Atlas? Does anyone think its a step forward or more of a lateral move to go regional to cargo, even if the carrier is the redheaded step child of the ACMI sector? The comment about K4 check airman is scary, but I feel like those kinds of guys are everywhere, no?

Cheers,

Atlas is hiring lots of pilots directly from the regionals, including those with no PIC.

None of these guys are being honest.......

There is only one answer to the question of .....Kalitta or Atlas?

NEITHER!

Stay away from both of them. They both suck under current leadership.

Holdout for a Major or FedEx or UPS.

On purpose so they can't leave.

If you don't mind waiting, I'd probably hold out for FedEX or a legacy. ACMI stuff is ACMI no matter what bull**** you coat the plane/contract with. At the end of the day we're all trash haulers.

A career is just that. It can be a long process that requires many steps. I have to laugh everytime I hear- "hold out for DAL, or FED"

One could beat this horse all day- if your goal is such, than take steps to make your resume to reflect those goals.

No different than any other job on this planet.

Atlas- is good for some, bad for others. The same goes for guys flying RJ's or caravans in the islands.

Do what works for you- and will get you to YOUR goal.

Peace -

Right- because you can't get PIC at atlas and then leave.

The rate of 767 CA's leaving Atlas is picking up in last few months.
