Default Info from UPS on flight officer apps

from airupers.com:

Information For Flight Officer Applicants

Flight District Human Resources

As the Chief Pilot Hotline recently noted, anyone who applied for a Flight Officer position with UPS in 2006 must re-visit the upsjobs.com website and complete a new application for 2007.

Note, however, that there currently is not a Flight Officer posting available on upsjobs.com for applicants to access. This is being addressed and the posting should be available in the next few days – possibly as early as Friday, Jan. 25. Please tell any interested applicants to check the website every couple of days for the updated posting.

Job applicants who have already been placed in the hiring pool do not need to re-apply or update on-line. They will continue to be considered for future class dates. All previously submitted Pilot Referral Forms have been maintained and it is NOT necessary to re-submit another recommendation for those candidates you may have referred for employment consideration.

I filled out an app in October, and it stills appears "active". I sent an email to the HR folks via the UPS website...waiting on a reply. I figured if its still active, there's no need to re-submit.

I've got the same question. With no "new" app to found, yet current one shows "active" and can be edited. Any info?

Status Date Location Position Complete
Active 08/21/2006 UPSCO AIRLINE
LOUISVILLE, KY SECOND OFFICER Yes

I filled out an app on 1/2/2007. The job I applied for was "flight officer" but after I filled it out it appears as second officer. Does anyone know if I still need to fill out the new app when it is available?

Here's the latest from a bud of mine who flys for UPS:

Subject: UPS News: Information for Flight Officer applicants

My apologies -- resent to correct garble in text:

I also asked about 2nd chance interviews. I got no real answers other than if they bring you back, they do want to hire you. Also said there have been some recent hires who turned down UPS years ago and came back in a change of mind.

Good luck to us all!

I've been checking the UPS website daily, and was finally able to find, and fill out the app for Flight Officer today. It's in the Air Operations section...It wasn't there yesterday, or the day before... The app shows "active" status, I guess that's a good sign. Best of luck everyone.

Default "Active" vs. "On File"

Gohan,

My new 2007 "First Officer" application shows "On File." If yours shows "Active," I wonder what the difference in status between "On File" and "Active" means? This question has been previously asked on other threads, however I don't believe I ever saw an answer.

Actually, I just checked on my application and it is now showing "Active." For what it's worth, I was then able to update it. I know some folks were having trouble updating, including myself. Hopefully, that portion of the application is fixed.

Did you get the "Congrats, bla bla bla" response when you finished your app?
