I actually don't remember. I think I received some sort of message that said my application was completed, but nothing like the "Congratulations, we would like you to take the next step in the process....." message some of the other guys have mentioned receiving. Unfortunately, the whole process is somewhat cryptic and not really open to interpretation. Hopefully, as the bugs get worked out of this new application more details will be forthcoming to shed light on how things might evolve.

Are they just ignoring the second officer applications on-file from last year? or do we still have a chance? I keep updating mine just in case. BCD

Pretty certain the '06 app is obsolete.

I called HR at the end of January to get an answer to my question. They said that the app I filled out in early Jan (before they changed the app the first time) was attached to the 2007 job posting and if they needed more info, they would be in touch.

I filled out the new one in Sept '06, after they said to change it. It was for and still says "second offficer", and I can still update it whenever I go on-line. I have one recommendation letter on file too. So I hope I'm at least in a stack somewhere. It might be the big stack on the floor next to the file cabinet - but it's there - somewhere!

BC,

Everything I've been reading says the 2006 apps are no good and you have to fill out a new one each calendar year. I too have a 2006 app there that I can update, but it doesn't do any good. It's my 2007 app that counts.

I also had the 2006 on file. I also have the 2007 in the system. I still have access to both even though I'm employed here now...when I got called to interview and had to add/update info it was all through the 2007 app. Your 2006 app is a file that will not be looked at anymore. Did you put in a 2007 app yet? I suggest you do asap before things change...again!

That's seems like the best way to look at it! I would love to put in that new app but don't have the "oceanic crossings" box checked! I'll just wait for that next change! Thanks for the info. - BCD

Default Why? Why? Why?

Why do they not let anyone update their application????

I'm still probably stuck in the "not qualified" department because the application won't let me back in so I can correct it to show that I truly meet the requirements!!!

...And the error is not my fault!

That is a problem I asked PD awhile back. He said they were using the main UPS HR program that was not designed for pilots. Whole company uses same program They were making do with it. I asked what if an applicant had wanted to update. He said that the applicant would ONLY have been allowed to fill out an application if they had met the hiring mins. Am sure he will say if you are in the system, you are qualified, but will they consider your app in light of the new requirements??? So who knows, my next question when I see him.
