Any of you guys working for UPS remember when your airline was just starting out and your management went to the truck drivers and asked if any of them wanted to be pilots? None of them said "Yes." Now that was classic.

Growing Slowly? Have a look see at each others respective main hubs for the first 8 months of 2006 Mem 2.5% growth SDF 10.7% growth. Might want to check your six I could throw stones back at you but I have too much respect for you and your co workers. Like I said in an above post BOTH companies didn't get were they are by not being the best!

The object for both of us is to not let anyone else get in our knickers here in the US or abroad!!!

Neither company could operate if the the other went our of business quickly. FDX and UPS are kinda like what Fred says of our many diff companies...

"Operate independently but compete collectively"!

Please don't misunderstand me. I wasn't throwing stones, just pointing out the fact that with more ground freight, there's less (domestic) air freight, and that's partially to blame for any lack of aircraft and crewmember additions. I'd never (well, almost never) badmouth UPS, after all, I used to be a crewmember there. But then I came to my senses.

That was a great gesture, 130JDrvr! I try to do the same (mostly dinners since our layovers are so short), but I don't see too many of them due to the retreads. We have some newbies, but most go to the front seat nowadays.

I remember flying a trip with and IOE checkairman and a new CA in IOE, and the CA told me to remember to look out for the new guys once I got off of probation, as he picked up the check for every meal that week. Great advice!

Just remember Busboy, neither company operates aircraft for your sake...
so if they could, they would get rid of hundred million dollar aircraft alltogether.
So aren´t we a happy bunch that are able to go to work inside an aluminium tube with rubberdog **** and cheap computers by the ton ?

Ohhhhh. My mistake. I've always thought of the aircraft as nothing more than a tool to get me to my next cocktail.
