What's the problem anyway? Are people wearing white mesh shirts and black leather chaps to work?

A white shirt

Dark blue pants

Black shoes

How difficult is this ??

Some white shirts are whiter than others.

Some dark blue pants will fade quicker than others.

We will never look identical, so why do they get wrapped around the axle about it??

Because it's so much easier than trying to lead.

Not that I can find. If you don't have your uniform to operate - lost luggage, left it at the previous hotel, etc....guys just operate in their best casual clothing. No penalty there.

The uniform police are going to have a hard time trying to identify who is or isn't currently on a trip - thus requiring compliance. If I am jumpseating and hanging out in the AOC - I could be in a partial uniform setup with the jacket / hat of my choosing...completely legal. I'm guessing that this will all be a moot point and difficult to enforce - especially at every location outside MEM.

Exactly. And if tomorrow the new System Chief Pilot wants us to all wear brown belts and white shoes, that's his prerogative. It should have ZERO influence on the terms of a ratifiable CBA.

FOCUS.

I'm sure Rock was just joking ... right?

As for the ALPA Uniform Committee approving or even being involved in the changes ... it wouldn't be the first time they've claimed collaboration that did not occur. I'm just surprised that McDonald went after the leather jacket before the parka. I guess the parka was Orlando's pet peeve.

.
I do not really care about the jacket, it is to heavy to fit in a suitcase for practical purposes. I do care about using my own money to purchase something for my uniform and then being told it is no longer a valid item. I do think uniforms should be a CBA item unless the company provides the complete getup instead of an inadequate subsidy.

I certainly spend more than 150 bucks a year on care and up keep and new items. My 1st 5 years I spent a lot more, particularly with the leather jacket.

For years, on the crew bus, I've been promoting purple and orange track suits. Of course each pilot would be able to accessorize with a gold chain or chains in order to make their own personal statement.

We have a uniform policy? Who knew?
Just do what you've always done. Pretty sure no one cares. If they do you're on the 777.

It's like Obamacare, we can just repeal it when we get a new leader.
