Quote: If you drive I-40, either Lakeland or Arlington, can't remember which, is going to lower the highway speed to 50 mph. YES 50 mph, when it is 70 mph before and after that area.....
I believe the change is on Rt. 70 not Rt.40.

Quote: I have driven regularly between Collierville and the AOC for 9 years. Never been pulled over and no tickets. I just heed the speed limits and use my turn signals. Shouldn't be a problem if you can read a speedometer.
Are you the guy that everyone flys past and gives the finger to?

My experience is NO one drives the speed limit on Nonconnah or I240.
My airport car can barely make 70mph and I am regularly passed by just about everyone including city, county and state police

Most of us that can, do, as rapidly as possible and without a rearward glance.

Glad you like it there though.

Nonconnahbahn/I-40/I-240 = world's fast phone booth.

yellow light = floor it so the 4 cars behind you don't hit you

green light = wait for 5 cars running yellow/red

We did go someplace else, we lived in MEM and couldn't take it anymore so we moved out.
The best view I ever had was the Hernando Desoto Bridge in the rear view of my Family car as we speeded westbound for the last time.........come to think of it, it was one of the happiest days of my wife's life too!

Not saying that they aren't true, just that I wish you would all commute.

Great I'm planning on moving there in the near future as my wife's family is there. What's the big issues with Memphis? Please let me know. Has to be better than where we currently live in Houston, TX. I will now commute again.(back to Houston)
