Yes, just make sure there is at least one R-day on both sides of the training. Also, carryover R-days in the adjacent month will not be dropped even though they are continuous with those in the training month. So, make sure you have at least one R-day from your training month schedule on both sides.

Depends on the training slots. If Ground school is always the first day (which usually is) then 2 days on the front. On the back, look at when the training slot last sim event ends, compare to the beginning of the R-day (RA and R24 start at 130a, RA+ at 730a, RB at 130pm) - you need 12 hrs after training debrief until R period start time. So, some times 2 on the back end, sometimes 1 on the backed.
