FDX--14-04 Bid
#11
This will be interesting if everyone who can hold ind 76 and mem 76 bid them and then nobody bids hkg on the 75 and76. Why would anyone with seniority bid MEM Airbus. There's bound to be another excess on that plane within another year or so.

The Airbus and MD-11 are on the long, slow glidepath to retirement just like the 727
Of course, it will take years and many will try to ride it to retirement
The difference between these 2 aircraft and the 727 is that, generally speaking, those aircraft are manned with a more senior crew force --- thus, a greater portion of the attrition could occur thru retirements
Don't expect too many vacancy bids in the Airbus and MD-11 for years
The junior guys at the bottom will see very little movement, if any

maybe to snag two 79hr dislocation allowances and the other sec 6 option 1 excess move benefits

This excess bid --- combined with the subsequent HKG vacancy bid --- will show who really wants to live in HKG...and at what pay level
Those current HKG pilots who can hold the 767 there, may see little change --- except for relative seniority
Those current HKG pilots who can only hold the 757 there, will see a cut in pay --- but may have higher seat seniority
What's that Chinese saying about living in "interesting times"...??
