FDX News and Announcements
Interesting that 2 out of 4 (in one day) "News and Announcements" topics that were posted in PFC today relate to current APC threads. I can't pass up a comment on this one. BM explains why we can't have a one button push from Login to FP/R.
"Second, and more importantly, when you then select the Flight Planning Center there is a banner right in the middle of the page labeled Priority Information Messages (PIM). This is the critical part of having every pilot pass through the Flight Planning Center on the way to accessing their flight release, as this is where information pertinent to today's operation is posted. Not every day, but whenever there is essential operational information that needs to be communicated immediately, this is where it is placed."
Thought that was what FCIFs were for.
"Right now this is our means of communicating these issues. Not every issue applies to every flight, but until we have a means of attaching an issue to a particular flight, fleet, region, crew or aircraft, this is the system we must utilize."
When did we finally put the Green Screen to rest? Duh, 21st Century...hello? Bean counters rule. As with most of the technology I've seen here since '95, appears to be just like the military...contract to the lowest bidder. But, hey, just like VIPS, Open Time, Expense Reports, Deviating and Deadheading, Email, etc., "this is the system we must utilize."

The message from WM was clearly written by someone that doesn't fly...rationale for weak programming code by the programmer himself.
Just shows more of the "we know what you need better than YOU know what you need mindset that seems to have taken over.

Our managers have intentionally made the process more difficult.
A bookmark makes it easier.
See what happens when I try to keep a post down to one word?
Sheesh.

Yeah, that's what they do....sit around wringing their hands all day trying to figure out how they can eff with us next. Not so much. You give them too much credit if you think they actually come up with this nonsense. They are just incompetent and focused on the wrong goals.

That IS intentionally making the process more difficult. I'm not giving anybody credit, I'm placing blame where it belongs.
