That's for normal drops, I'm sure your FC/FM would have no problem dropping a trip if you said you were going to call-in sick...I'm guessing here, but I think that is the SCP's intent.
So if 50 pilots call their SCP on Dec23 and request to drop their xmas trip for their head cold, they are just going to drop them?

Default Just another delay tactic

While I fully agree this issue needs to be resolved and resolved promptly, let's not lose focus on the big picture.

Just a friendly reminder.
I think this is EXACTLY what is happening ... this is just the month of May stall/delay/distract tactic. I wonder what the June tactic will be? I suspect it's already on their war-room calendar.

It's called frustration with the new Deviation and Deadheading system. Which reminds me, I need to file a POR on that POS.

There has been precedent set in previoius lawsuits, re:requesting a note from a physician does comply with the provisions of our CBA and DOES NOT conflict with any laws or regulations.

BMs note saying that if you don't have a note, you WILL be REQUIRED to have in the future, goes against this precedent.

Unless the company asks for a note from EVERYONE, ALL THE TIME, it cannot single out individuals, for routine submission for every sick event. Read the case a few days ago, gotta look at my history file & send the case to Grievience Com chair & alpa legal.

Why not take the first leg of the flight, then call in sick in the field? Go get your note, let the company pay for another pilot to deadhead to the location and pay for you to deadhead home.

If they accuse you of a job action, just say you weren't sick enough to see a doctor until the middle of the flight. Due to the threatening actions by the company you did not think it wise to go sick since you didn't need to see a Dr until you were in X____x. It's also legal per our CBA… What's good for the goose….

Default Going to the doc with less hastle

ABC news did a story on telemedicine. Getting a physician's opinion (and note) may have gotten even easier. The last thing I want to do is drag myself out of bed with a cold to go to the doc and be told to get more rest.

Missed adding the sarcasm icon, the first time.

You are right, they won't, so I guess our option is to get the note. Bottom line is we should not be deterred from using our Rights and benefits as negotiated in the CBA, no matter what the SCP thinks.

Very nice

I agree this issue is really just a distraction; however, it's not going anywhere even after we get a new contract

Their desire for notes will be the "new normal" --- they want your sick call to be onerous

The Union really should research & contract a doctor like this, which does over the phone consults for minor conditions and then
provides a note, if required

Perhaps when BC/BS keeps making the companies portion of the payments a "bean counter" over there will inform the company that they are paying twice for a service they already provide --- the Nurse Line

Always fly safely --- never fly sick!

Default Sick flight crew diverts AGAIN!

Flight From Italy Bound For Philly Diverted To Ireland ? Again « CBS Philly

I wonder if they have to get notes from their doctors?

I wonder how much it costs FedEx if the KIX-MEM flight diverts (or any other International flight for that matter)?
