Last year flowers to MIL made it there a week late. They were florist delivered flowers, not FedEx. It was unbelievable how late they were. This year we got the flowers delivered in a FedEx box. They made it there on time.

We're in the same business. We have the same management. Would not surprise me to find that other employees have similar issues and complaints. Wonder if management "reinterprets" their contract as often as they reinterpret ours… ?
… Oh, wait…
The DOT HOS (hours of service) for drivers is no more than 70 hours in an 8 day period. If the driver works more than that, it is the driver's fault (according to management) and disciplinary action will be taken against the violator.

Seems to me that management's job would be to manage these rules, then balance them with the staffing and overtime money available in order to meet the huge customer demand on one of the most important delivery days of the year.

Or they could just sit around and ***** that every group wants too much, have lunch at Owen Brennan's and then go home. Apparently either way works at the NEW FedEx.

I vote for your second rationale and it may be the primary reason that mgt isn't too interested in meeting at the negotiation table....they are too busy at the table at Brennan's.

Just in the interest of full disclosure, I looked in the window to Owen Brennan's one time.....
