I read some of the fine print where it said nine pilots got their Advisory Letters rescinded because of a computer glitch where they never received notification that the company wanted a doctor's letter. I know someone where the same thing happened, and the company ignored his complaint about not being notified, and when he talked to management, he got the, "It's not my fault, it's computer generated," excuse. I wonder how many other people didn't get their Advisory Letters rescinded because the requests were ignored.

Let's hope they let it go through the arbitration process. And, don't agree to being paid 50% on sick days.

So the company decided to side with itself and it's argument. What a great system we have.

I normally call in sick because I have a condition that is causing fatigue. If I call in Fatigued...I don't have to deal with all the bureaucratic crap the company has levied.

The company can expect fatigue calls from me until this issue is resolved back to the contract language.

I know not many folks do it for good reason, but wonder how many points are deducted from your total when you fly MUS?

ZERO. How do I know! One of the pilots in the grievance had only called in sick 3 times in last 4 years and used MUS to refill his maxed out sick back.

If you are fatigued, you should definitely call in fatigued. Though it is additional effort (actually just contacting the duty officer and filing a report), this really lets the company know about a particularly onerous pairing or situation. Something may look not too bad on paper, and complications happen with a hotel, weather, or a combination of conditions, that they should be aware of. Otherwise it's all just numerical to them.
