Fair enough. Well sorry if I offended anyone at FedEx. Intentions were purely to feed my geeky curiosity about the industry.

James, you want us to be suspicious to the point of paranoia. Too little suspicion and not paying attention allowed 9/11 to happen. Yeah, rudeness is unnecessary, but if you've been reading these forums....and not just the cargo forums, there's plenty to go around. It's nothing personal.

I think the apology from James is humorous. Wasn't it just a couple posts back where all FX employees are DBs?

James I certainly don't want to lose a valuable customer like you, can you tell us what hotel you stayed at in Disneyland so we can know how many secrets your business is worth?
Seriously if you want your answers they are posted here, get a cup of coffee and use the search function. But a quick answer to your question; most of the pilots flying out of OAK or any other FDX hub are based in Memphis.

I can't imagine a scenario where the CEO and I would be at a FedEx party together. When the company hosts parties for aviation geeks, they don't invite the pilots. I've never met or even seen the CEO in person. And he doesn't pay any of us here to field questions about his company from the general public.
He does, however, have a staff that DOES answer questions about FedEx from the public, and they're paid to be polite to aviation geeks and the like. You could write him with your questions.

How could the knowledge that a pilot's typical work day (such as, for example:OAK to LAX, sit for 2 hours then fly back to OAK) possibly be used against anyone or any entity in some ill manner? I don't see it. Sorry. It's not like this is CIA info I'm tapping. This is so general. I'm not asking for FDX pilot's names, SSNs, addresses, spouse and kids names, ...lol. I'm asking REALLY REALLY general questions. Just wanted some idea of what the night ops out of OAK were like. I think people here can divulge that info without worrying about some psycho reading it and somehow gaining new found knowledge which s/he can in turn use against FDX (or an individual). How could that even happen? I can see how exercising caution with regards to answering some questions posed in forums would be prudent. I just don't see the need for that type of caution or prudence with my questions.
Obv if I knew someone in the industry I would ask them. I really don't see the big fuss about asking a question which is common information. Are pilots not allowed to say what routes they fly? LOL, I guess I'm naive because I had no idea this was so hush hush.

Well, I know the guy who is doing the OAK - TUS trips goes and runs the same route in OAK everyday around noon along Hersenberger (sp?) road. You might track him down and ask him. But for all I know you're his ex-wife's lawyer trying to track him down for the alimony payment. The guy doing the OAK - ABQ trip is going to eat at Franchesco's tonight. Look for him and ask him. But I know he has some bad gambling debts and you could be a mafia guy hunting him down.

James -
I'll go out on a limb and assume you've never been in the military or law enforcement.
Please Google "Opsec" and "Comsec", do a little basic reading.
Then understand what it means when you state "...you don't even know me" and combine that with the fact that many pilots in civilian aviation spent years as pilots & officers in the military first
I think you will quickly see why you're not getting the same love a customer gets at Disneyland
DLax
ps - if you started questioning a Disney employee about when their big supply trucks come and go, what back entrances they use, where their drivers report for work and where they're parked when they're off Disney properties, I think you may get a similar response.
