I think Global Travel will need additional phone lines and agents to handle the load because we all know how well the web page will work!

If IE9 link on GRID does not work for you - submit a POR. They need to reset your profile.
You would think that they would have beta tested this before dumping it on us! Or, at least, upgraded GRID to IE9 before making the switch.

He said trip manager was being phased out, and that he did not know the depth & breadth of the pilot force's requirements for booking deviating DH tickets. We traded a few emails on the topic, and he seemed to understand, and appreciated the feedback. What he comes up with, time will tell.
However several things were evident:
1) Clear requirements were not provided to the team creating the DH deviation ticketing software.
2) There was a complete lack of understanding by the guys doing the work that most of the fedex crew force are commuters, these commuters deviate, and not from memphis, and that they may not travel on the scheduled deviation day.
3) There was no attempt by flight ops management to confer with alpa a working group/SIG review etc of use cases, and absolute requirements. So the IT team was trying to do what they "thought" was needed, based on their own internal assumptions, or an extremely thin and incomplete set of directions from flt ops.
The 777 force is the beta testers, and as of last week it was in NO means ready for prime time. The IT department is under time pressure as the trip manager vendor is shutting it down by June.

By comparing an app like BidX and the newly designed PFC, you can tell right away which one was designed by someone with practical experience flying at FedEx, and which one was designed with almost no input from pilots at FedEx. The comparison also reflects the difference between a product designed for the competative marketplace, and a product designed for people who are simply required to use it.
The Quick Links box on PFC is a decent idea, but who picked what requires Quick access? I've never gone to some of those links ever during my time at FedEx. What about FPR and Weather? And here's a thought...can they be listed in some kind of order that makes sense. I don't know...maybe like...alphabetical?

Just tried clicking the link to Bird/Other Wildlife Strike reports on the Quick Links page. It takes you to a corrupt page. But at least it takes you there quickly.
I love changes that improve operations. Updating PFC is a great opportunity to make everyones' life on the line easier and more efficient. But when it doesn't appear even basic level QA is done on the changes before they are implemented, it makes you wonder about the quality of the entire operation. There is a strong trend developing, and it isn't good. If the wheels keep falling off the bus, it is probably time to pull over and look for someone else to tighten the lug nuts.
