Negotiations ; how about picketing ???

I agree, simply wearing a pin and a Lanyard isn't going to bring the Company to it's knees. My point is…
If pilots will not even wear a Pin and a Lanyard when requested by the Union Leadership, how can we as a group anyone expect the same individual to support a Union initiative which takes things up a notch?
How tough is it to wear an ALPA Pin and Lanyard?
Rhetorical Question. If we can't get ALL of our Group to follow a simple, easy & Cheap and low threat request such as wearing their ALPA Pins and lanyards, how do you think we would fare as a Group if we are asked to do something that might cost each of us a little money, and force one to put his or her Head above the ridge line?
It is a simple litmus test really. Both the Union leadership and Management take notice.
"If you can't get them to salute when they should salute and wear the clothes you tell them to wear, how are you going to get them to die for their country?"
- General George Patton Jr
“It is absurd to believe that soldiers who cannot be made to wear the proper uniform can be induced to move forward in battle. Officers who fail to perform their duty by correcting small violations and in enforcing proper conduct are incapable of leading.”
- General George S. Patton Jr., April 1943
We didn't win the cold war by blanketing the enemy with mushroom clouds. We won it by convincing the enemy that we could do it and that we would do it. Deterrence is based convincing the opponent that you have both the abilty to destroy and the will to do it. So far, we haven't convinced our opponent that we have either the will or the ability. We've only reiterated our desire to do no harm.
I believe we have the potential -- a membership willing to step up to the plate and make the sacrifices needed. What we lack is a Patton.

Problem is we aren't a Military Organization either.
I get the Leadership thing.
Patton could Order his subordinates around. Our Guys MEC can't they can only request.
This problem isn't new. We have had it since ALPA 1, Apathy.

Are we in a game of "chicken" here?
One would think a wise company would rather protect revenue and manage internal costs prudently, rather then risk revenue and thereby lose the opportunity to manage costs
Yes, it's a unique dance we must perform together
The debate here seems to be on the style and volume of music, which is necessary to get the company wallflowers to the middle of the dance floor
