A 'scab' can ALSO be considered someone who is easily persuaded to publicly abandon support for a union that protects their pilots in exchange for quick monetary gain.

Aflouisville writes remarkably servile paeans to NURPS aka SCABS...it's so easy to laugh at you Aflouisville, and your insipid screeds.

When you realize you're doing the same job as a union pilot it should make you feel like one.

Getting hired as a NURP when you couldn't, for whatever reason, get hired as a union pilot doesn't help either.

The same people made the hiring decisions back then; line or FQS. You had no choice. You were offered one or the other.

There is a disservice in using the term scab for that which it is not. It waters down the meaning of the word.
A scab is offensive to the core and the word should be left alone to define that which it is and only that.

The Teamster Contract and the IPA contract did not stipulate who could fly the airplanes. It simply said that Line Flying would first be given to the Line Pilots. If there were not Line Pilots available, then FQS would fly. Or FQS could fly by displacement.

The first IPA contract stipulates in Scope. Article 1.

"It is agreed that all present and future domestic flying on
aircraft with a payload weight of more than 12,899 lbs. [19,000
lbs. for international flights] including but not limited to, revenue
flying, ferry flights, charters, training flights, test flights, or other
utilization of Company owned or leased aircraft in and for the
service of the Company, or any affiliate of the Company, shall
be performed by crewmembers on the United Parcel Service
Crewmember Seniority List in accordance with the terms and
conditions of this Agreement or any other applicable agreement
between the Company and the Association, except as
otherwise provided in this Agreement."

True. But if no line pilots are available,FQS can fly. Or FQS can fly by displacement. Line pilots lose nothing

The IPA has no interest in MX, positioning, ferry flights, etc. They thus default to FQS
