UPS Furlough Over
#132
I'd like to think that guys/gals from the likes of XJT, SKW, USN, RAH, EGF et al would be perfect fits too; lots of people have been waiting for this, regardless of their circumstances.

There was a major sea change after the last new hire management was brought on board. At best, so called "managers" are not being replaced as they retire. Management has been cut all across the company except in the airline. The line pilot manpower reductions are reflecting cost savings and the bean counters are looking elsewhere. This will be fun to watch.
Meanwhile, it really looks like we will replace the retirees. Certainly not big classes, but maybe some hiring this year. The last time the FAA pressured UPS to hire guys with international wide body backgrounds. MD-11 experienced guys did well. Now that the junior positions are on the 757 and Airbus domestic, who knows?
Obviously it's all conjecture. Nobody in the airline knows anything and the decision comes from Atlanta.

To be clear, the FAA pressured UPS to hire intl wide body pilots for the line, or for manger positions? Why would the FAA have any input on your company hiring guidelines either way? Just curious.....

UPS had to hire experienced wide body pilots to babysit the management pilots when they flew the line.
