Nobody knows. Even those who will be in charge of the process may likely know just before they're held responsible for not having enough ready to put in the training pipeline. I'm not exaggerating, that's just the way it is. We have some moles on "the inside" so we may hear something sooner than the general public.

I have never seen a place with more spurious rumors than this place, and so many are pure nonsense. For example, a "in-the-know" type was swearing they'd NEVER recall furloughees prior to a ratified contract...wrong. Another rumor is that the FAA is going to recind the cargo cutout, and UPS' inside the beltway sources tipped them off, so they recalled and may have to hire as many as 200.

Still others say all sorts of rumors (see above).

If you're even remotely interested in this place, get with the program and embrace the life philosophy Expectation Zero.

It will save you a lot of frustration...

Just a note, people have been quitting and going back to past airlines.

Tomorrow, or the next day ... possibly as late as next week. Maybe in a month.

The eaglelounge maverick is a piece of work - just the type of guy you want infecting your union. but in fairness maybe this guy is a different douche altogether.

+1
He will probably be back under a different name but easy to identify with his sheer lack of SA.

In reality, I wasn't joking ... That's about as accurate as ANY line pilot actually knows about this place, managers included.

Just a quick story for those that are asking about hiring and if anyone knows anything.

As a new hire in the training center in 2007 they used to have a grip and grin pizza day once a month, where someone from management would tell those that would listen, the new stuff going on. I happen to stumble in the cafeteria on one of these days to grab a soda and I overheard a question asked by a new hire. The question was: what are the expansion plans and does UPS have any new airplanes on order? On this particular Friday afternoon the Vice President of airline happen to be the one answering questions. He said almost verbatim that the airline has no plans for fleet expansion and growth would be as the market would dictate.

So on Monday morning I wake up and everyone is talking about UPS has just announced that they are buying 29 767-300's from Boeing. So in the next meeting someone asked why did the VP lie to everyone present about the Aircraft order and some other management guy said because he couldn't disclose insider information and some other BS. I believe that he didn't know either.

Bottom line: Everyone will know when its announced via a press release and not a moment sooner, hope it helps those asking questions and stops the speculation/rumorville.

And with that, your post went from intelligent to delusional!
