It's "share the gain." It's the reverse side of the "share the pain" coin we use for reserve assignments.

I do agree that he's got an inside edge on all you guys and it ****ing you off - would probably **** me off too if I was effected but I'm not. I don't have a horse in this race. I'm an outsider (not MD-11) trying to bring objectivity to this witch hunt. In my opinion, it's either Albie's suggestion (collusion with a scheduler - which I imagine the scene from The Departed where Matt Damon is texting on a phone in his pocket) or a bot telling him it's coming (which I find very difficult to believe). OTP recycling is not it though. You can't get that lucky that many times recycling OTP - which evidently you can't do anyways. It's funny that people are making claims on here that they have no idea what they're talking about (OTP recycling). Unlimited OTP? What the hell is that? It doesn't exist - you're making stuff up. The truth needs to come to life here and in time I believe it will. Hell, I'll even email my block rep on your behalf and tell him the boys on the MD-11 are gettin' screwed by Lakeside and we need the truth - provided we can handle the truth.

And I'm writing here because I over-heard an F/O on the crew bus last night talking about the "Wolfpack" and OTP recycling. Dumbasses are reading this forum and think it's all fact when most is just conjecture presented as fact.
I love it....you don't have a horse in this race and it doesn't affect you. If you ever went to the 11 or the Bus got charters then would you care?

I appreciate the C-Fool making such a spirited defense of the undefendable....and all the while....not having a "horse in this race". God help us if he ever has something to gain or lose.

Default Just what the company wants

For those of us that have FxCal, just about everyone, you can see who has got one of the charter trips by looking at the closed time table after the charter trip has been picked up. I contacted ALPA about the charter "*****s" and they told me it wasn't their problem. Thanks ALPA! Last summer I also talked to my ACP at the time and he told me the company was working the problem. I also found out the same guy was PDO bumping the same guys off the charter trips. I think anyone that causes the pilot group any pain or distention among the pilots is likely to go unchecked. If they wanted this problem fixed, it would have been fixed already.

From Pedantic Ave:
Abdominal swelling, or distention, is more often caused by overeating than by a serious illness. This problem can be caused by:

Air swallowing (a nervous habit)
Buildup of fluid in the abdomen (this can be a sign of a serious medical problem)
Gas in the intestines from eating foods that are high in fiber (such as fruits and vegetables)
Irritable bowel syndrome
Lactose intolerance
Ovarian cyst
Partial bowel blockage
Pregnancy
Premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
Uterine fibroids
Weight gain

I also noticed that many of the "Wolfpack" appear to call in SCK a lot--especially over Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Ding Ding Ding!!

or......this......maybe? former Airbus guy tried to 'splain a tactic that was used by some during 4A2b. (I didn't fully listen or understand, but.....)

OTP "recycling" is not possible without help (from at least 1 other pilot) - you have to be able to "park" a trip on another pilot's calendar.

During the process of using OTP to pick up the fat/juicy Charter, you "park" it (give it away) on your bud's calendar & then grab it back using regular M/U

somehow (and I have no clue exactly how at this point) during this "park & retrieve" process (perhaps due to a glitch in the scheduling computers' programming??) - the OTP bank gets replenished & only regular M/U bank is charged

rinse-repeat as necessary

combine with the possibility of using a BOT using time-stamp-hacking or some other ACTIVE manipulation of the company computer system (= ILLEGAL!!) in order to pick up the fat/juicy Charter in the first place.

disclaimer: all the above is total speculation on my part based on a 5 minute conversation I had with said former Airbus pilot on a crew bus, so......ymmv.....so fire away.....all I know is that what these guys are doing is just WRONG (on many levels)

I was pleasantly surprised that my block rep called me to tell me that, yes, in fact our MEC is serious about taking care of this problem. And that he (as a junior MD capt) is not happy about it and has brought it up to SS and the gang. He said that as more peeps keep hassling their block reps things might happen. You know "the squeaky wheel gets the grease"…

Default Here we go

ANC MD-11 FO trip 2059/21 is open time right now and frozen (Fz).

Lets see how this one shakes out...is the water too hot for the wolf pack to jump on it?
