Shanghai Cell phone repair info
Had to get a cell phone repaired and was disgusted that the mall wanted $130 to replace a cracked glass on my smart phone (galaxy S4). So thought I'd make a little adventure of my stay in PVG. Ended up spending 300 rmb (aprox $50), plus a couple of metro fairs of 50cents each. Heres the info for anyone who wants to save a couple of bucks and adventure around in Shanghai.
Go out the Hilton and make a Rt. Walk about 5 blocks to the metro. The first entrance allows you underground connection to line 1 (red). Take line 1 two stops to the Xujiahui Station. Exit number 5 will take you right into the correct building. Before you even get to the full exit you see a KFC (yes fried chicken fast food). Standing in front of the KFC enter the building through glass doors on right. You will be in the food court of the Computer/cell phone parts building. Up the escalators to 3rd floor. Go to booth 3D06B no name on it, but all kinds of broken cell phones and soldering irons. Thats pretty much it. It took them overnight to do the repair. was quoted at 590 RMB if there was damage to the display under the glass...but I got away with just a glass replacement.
Happy travels
