FedEx Interview/New Hire Class

Hey Albie,
After the DAL/NWA merger, one of the ways mgt chose to shrink to profitability was to offer an early retirement package. Avoided the nasty F word, and got rid of some of the higher paid guys on the payroll with the most vacation, etc.
I know FDX has 4a2b at their disposal, but has the union ever had discussions about Pilot early retirement package ? Just a thought to relieve the stagnation/displacements and move the payroll down a bit from its top-heavy position.
Regards,
B

They have senior guys taking their sick time and have spent a lot of money trying to get them to stop. They could offer us 10 cents on the dollar for unused sick time when we retire but that is too easy. They would rather harass us about sick usage. They would rather spend money investigating and firing pilots than pay an FDA housing allowance that should be automatic. They would rather save a few dollars by regularly cheating us on some accepted fares than do it right and avoid the ensuing ill will.
Now they want to pay us a bonus for PBS. As cheap as management is you have to know they are offering us less than 10 cents on the dollar for it. Probably much less.
No way.

The FedEx published airframe numbers include all of the ATR and Caravan's that FedEx owns but leases to other operators. Those pilots are not included in the ~4500 pilots.

Currently the Max pay for an Atlas 767 Capt (12 year) is less than the FedEx 10 year WB F/O pay. I see they are in line for some raises over the next few years and we should be too, so these numbers might change some. There are some other variables, A fund, B fund, profit sharing, ESOP etc, but in the long run.....I predict........
BTW, ACP say's Atlas has a trip rig of 4.95:1 (4.85 hours pay per 24 hours away), if this is true.....those Atlas guys work VERY hard for their money and must be away from home a lot.

I know that UPS pilots are going to be ****ed royally at us if we vote in PBS. They already accuse us of screwing them out of approximately $50/hr additional for top Captain pay that they say UPS already had on the table and then pulled it when we settled for far less. I think we should wait it out and let UPS settle first since they (IPA) seem to be a better union and they definitely have a much more unified pilot group.
