Yup! And it's an unusual day when I don't miss flying those big jets, but given the current situation at FedEx and the morale of most of the guys I know who are still there, coupled with the lack of progress on the contract, and how much the bid packs and line purity has changed, Yes! I'm glad I'm no longer there. Plus it's nice to sleep in my own bed. I do wish you guys luck and unity for the upcoming contract negotiations, because from what I've seen so far, you've got a ways to go yet.

Just passing along rumors...the number being tossed around is 90. Where to? Sim bldg. or line? I don't know. I DO know that the standards folks have been told to come up with new SBI scenarios...that's gotta mean something...no?

It is hard to count any time towards a CBA bargained benefit when the pilot is not a member of class and craft. The confusion in this stems from the time at which ALL employees were under the same retirement plan and in that case the year(s) of course counted. Now, the "Pros" will still have whatever benefit they accrued in the Cash Balance Plan. Vacation time credit was at one time credited based on original hire date, but that was before we had a Union Contract and can't blame the FPA for allowing that change as their obligation is to the pilots on the seniority list, not the ones who may or may not be hired from the Pro list.

Do you know how many new hires might come from the pros? Is there a certain ratio or percentage? Or seniority within their ranks? And will they have to interview, or is it a flow through type agreement?
Thanks! My fingers are crossed for everyone that wishes to fly for purple.

Fact - someone I know has an interview for a Pro job at FedEx this coming week...
Speculation - I've heard that they may start giving pilot/line interviews to the current Pros that have finished their contracts in late fall... Then outside interviews would be in the spring... I hadn't heard any numbers of how many...
Knowing that they are interviewing for pro jobs, the speculation sounds plausible. Hope all the Pro's get interviews and succeed after putting in the extra time...
