Florida Air Cargo?
I flew into Bimini a few days ago, and saw the DC-3, don't see too many of them operating commercially anymore. I spoke with the pilots for the few minutes that I had, but I'm really interested in working for them to fly the DC-3 for a while. I'd like to know if they require a type to get hired, and what other minimums they require. I have a tail wheel endorsement but it's been a while since I've flown one, hard to find anyone that will rent one out. If anyone could fill me in on how most guys get hired, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I started my career flying DC3s out of Pontiac,Mi. back in '87, one of those 3's N15MA is still earning her keep with Florida Air Cargo, Godspeed and the best of luck to you, they are a vanishing breed everywhere, more so in the lower 48.

i flew her at Century Airlines, and IFL,both PTK based, we ferried her sister ship 4MA ,also former Mannion, to Bangkok back in the early 90's ,an epic journey that still amazes me, God bless both Douglas, and Pratt Whitney !!!

next time I'm in MIA I hope to make the pilgrimage, my friend Frank Moss has a 3 there, and 2 of my beloved 727s have been consigned to destruction there, if they are being parted out I would love to claim a yoke. Besides I would like to sit in '5MA's cockpit for old times sake, I flew my first revenue trip in a DC3 as a nugget copilot in that ship, back in the day, between KDAY and Oshawa,ON. CYOO.good memories.
