FDX Jumpseats

I don't think flyonthewall gets it. Of course the crew said "thank you". They were trying to be pleasant. We appreciate your help but only at the appropriate time. They know you don't know to keep quiet about non-essential items during T/O. This is not something pilots make up, it is mandated by the FAA.
And to our fly on the wall, power being advanced is not an appropriate time for a non-critical switch. Flaps not extended, yes. But, why wait for the entire taxi-knowing somethings not quite right---or, if noticed right at the last second--why not wait for a minute or two until safely airborne to point it out? That lack of judgement is one of the main reasons some PICs don't want any non-pilots in the cockpit, which is their call-under the CFRs
Gunter, I get it. It's ok to make exceptions if you all say it's ok.
If I had been a pilot riding jumpseat, and made the decision to inform the crew of their mistake, it would have been ok.
I've been in the cockpit numerous times below 10,000, during critical phases of flight, I've heard plenty of nonessential conversations.
Being a military veteran, firefighter, myself, I believe qualifies me, and having coworker A&P's that are also National Guardsmen, firefighters, law enforcement, that I know would not be offended, would actually back me, I stand by my previous statement. If that get's me banned, so be it.
I'm interested what the general consensus is; Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger - Hero/Legend? or Just doing his job?

BTW, you said you've "been an Airman since 1975". What exactly do you mean by "Airman"?

Well, I gave y'all a chance to redeem yourselves. I thought odious comparisons happen only in Regional threads! Guess I was wrong.
Update 6/21/2013:
I was once again persuaded to reopen this thread because of the importance of the topic. Anybody who posts something/anything that is even remotely similar to the posts ahead of this one WILL BE BANNED.

I'm sorry you won't be able to enjoy our unique style of hospitality.
Good Bye!

There again, I knew it was essential per our operation.
"Flaps not extended, yes." No! According to 121.542, that would still be a critical phase of flight. If I had been a pilot riding jumpseat, and made the decision to inform the crew of their mistake, it would have been ok.

We're talking about essential for a safe Takeoff. When the power is advanced you are now on the takeoff roll. There is a list of things that you should abort a takeoff for. Your "essential for the operation" item is not one of them. Even though your training didn't include it, you think you know all about this part of the operation. Got it.
You're digging yourself a pretty big hole claiming you know more about flying than you really do.
You sound like the type of person that should not ride in the cockpit.
