Here is another major problem that hasn't been raised:
A person (AMT for example) who has daily unlimited access to the airport sterile area also has access to unlimited weapons, hammers, wrenches, exacto knives, etc.
With all those weapons already inside the sterile area he now proceeds thru screening and gets his boarding pass and picks up his weapons on the way to the jet. Maybe he left them in the trash can at the gate. Maybe he even put them in the jet itself, he has access.
If you think security in the cargo world is the same as in the passenger world you are very naive.
This is as much about cockpit security as it is about safety. But then we have only to look as far as FAR 117 to see that cargo and passengers aren't treated the same. The consequences of a large jet full of fuel hitting a building is the same wether full of cargo or people

I knew that's how the cubicle commandos did business.
"Do it or get fired. Never mind common sense or the risk inherent in the implementation of said policy. We have a crack legal staff that has signed off that they can argue their way out of any repercussions. You will feel the heat for a poor evaluation of said jump seater as the corporation (our cubicle group) is held blameless. So just mind who is boss and do it!"
You think you're so smart...No. We know what you're doing. You're just bullies that don't listen.

Dear FlyerOnWall aka Wolf in Sheep's Clothing,
I am in receipt of your recent Private Message. Yes, I did have an opportunity to read the Private Message you allegedly received and then posted on the public forum before that Private Message was redacted from your post by a moderator. In fact, you might notice that the very next post in the thread is my reply to your post, and the time stamps clearly show that my reply was posted before your post was edited. If you look closely, I have even quoted one sentence from that PM and compared it with a line that you wrote -- the similarities between the threat in the alleged PM and the threat you repeated are stark. Are you sure you didn't write that yourself?
(By the way, I receive regular e-mail notifications when threads are updated with new posts. I still have your complete, original post, and I'll always hold it near and dear to my heart. By the way, what is pussitis?)
I appreciate the concern you've shown for me by pointing out that it's only Tony and a few noise makers who just want to rattle the tree. Not only are you conveying the threat of discipline to include termination, you're personalizing it to me. Don't worry, though, I'm not one to shrink away from speaking the truth. I've been known to speak my mind even when it makes some people uncomfortable. I'm certainly not going to be silenced by some anonymous internet troll.
Please do not harass or threaten me with further Private Messages. When courts get involved, your shroud of anonymity will be quickly removed, and you may wind up wishing that being banned from APC was the worst of your troubles.
Have a nice day.

Nonsense, Tony. There was no threat or harassment.
BTW, it's very clear you just made the first threat.
What I pointed out is my personal opinion as an employee of a company, we all have to balance between company guidelines and regulatory policy.

Company guidelines should mirror regulatory policy.
The perception that one should have to individually compromise regulatory policy to accommodate the company guideline is certainly not within the realm of "safe, legal, reliable". This is the point that gets lost: the regulatory realm is just that, regulatory.
