All good in EWR 02MAR13. Major lines in Customs but Global Entry is my friend...btw, I'd pay $36/year for KCM. TSA was actually fast though today. No sequester problems today.

On the gov't side you probably won't see 'shortages caused by personnel' until April since I'm guessing that most gov't agencies will handle the shortages like the FAA - meaning 30 days for the furloughs to take affect.

The issue isn't THAT the budget is being cut, it's where the cuts are coming from. I can only speak for how it affects me as an air traffic controller. At my facility, we have around 6 people on overtime per day. We are going to lose the 6 on overtime plus furlough 4-6 more, so we are looking at 5-6 less people per shift (normal 22-24 per shift), or 10-12 less per day. That is 25% fewer bodies starting April 7th. At a big TRACON, like where I work, that means sectors will have to be combined and there will be flow restrictions throughout the airspace.
If this goes to April 7th, there will be a noticeable impact to the ATC system.

No doubt you are being held hostage by leviathan. The budget for 2013 is bigger than the budget for 2012 even with the sequester. The fact that we cant do the same with more is tragic. Not to worry the next obamagedon is March 31 when the continuing resolution will be passed. I am sure we will borrow more money from our children to fund your overtime.
No doubt on page 1728 of the 5753 page resolution the furlougees will be made whole.
