Might have to occasionally take advantage if JS in TUL and OAK. Does anyone have any experience getting between that terminal and the FedEx facility at either of those cities?
What kind of "thanks for the ride" treats do you bring? I usually bring a bag if Ghiradelli chocolates for gate agents and flight attendants when I'm begging for a lift.
Thanks in advance.

The only time I went terminal to FDX in TUL I took a taxi. The guy whined the whole time, never turned on his meter and wanted $40. My usual bribe for shady transactions is $20 but he settled for $10 that day.

I've had trouble with JFK taxi drivers "pretending" to not know where the FedEx Ramp was, when he tried to overcharge me for the short trip I called the police.
Problem solved ...
The NY Taxi and Limo Commission imposes BIG fines for bad (illegal?) service.
AND ... PS, I neither bring nor expect cookies from Jumpseaters. I consider it a Professional Courtesy. Welcome Aboard! Please return the favor one day

Friendly Cab (510) 536-3000 is the best choice to go from fedex to term $7. From term to fedex take cab from cab stand $10, yes, they will ***** about the short fare. I've heard hotel van guys will take you to term after dropping off aircrew at hotel, just tip them well. I've heard of people walking to long term parking lot (1.5mile?) and catching shuttle to term. 90% of guys who are finished upon landing at OAK will give you a lift in their POVs, if they haven't taken a limo, and even then will have limo guy take you over.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the info. Hopefully I won't have to take advantage of your hospitality too often, but I appreciate knowing that it is there.
What is it like for jumpseaters in MEM during the sort? Any place to grab a few minutes of sleep?

You might get lucky enough to snag 2-3 seats together and catch some zzz's

From the cargo terminal to the pax terminal you'll most likely need a cab. Bring cash- most cabs in Miami refuse credit cards, at least those at the airport. It's quite a pain in the arse.
There are no rental car lots on the west side of the airport, so catching a shuttle isn't an option. As far as hoofing it to one of the hotels and grabbing a shuttle, keep in mind most of them stop their shuttle service after a certain hour. That and the closest hotel is about a mile away from the FedEx ramp.
From the terminal to the cargo ramp, as mentioned before, take one of the blue cabs.
Again, bring cash.
Finally, you might want to consider using FLL as an alternate. You can easily catch the Tri-Rail for $5 and take the train from FLL (there's a bus shuttle from the terminal to the train station) directly to the MIA car-rental terminal. (Currently only as far as Hialeah, as the last mile of track is still under construction, but again, free bus shuttle.)
