Not A, because the tail was 492FE. I'm betting B.

The word in ANC OPS was the company did not want the liability??? But they sure wanted the media exposure with the FedEx logo still on the airplane. Amazing that no one from flight test or standards was qualified or wanted to fly the jet?

I bet the plane turned over at ANC. Probably didn't have a lot of volunteers willing to risk their tickets on a short, snow covered runway.
A guy at UAA told me they paid $5,000 to clear and deice the runway. And the guys flying it are contract guys who deliver/repo 727s all over the place. Retired "airline" guys.

Same thing I heard. Also that it was turned over at PDX.

Whale,

The 727 is a real piggy to stop. The brakes are just adequate and the thrust reversers shorten the landing roll by very little. It might not have been a BFD, but it was a fun video to watch and it seemed to impress the locals.

And by the way, speaking of KMDW, ever heard of Southwest Airlines Flight 1248?, and that was with a jet with a much improved braking system.

A piggy?!! Why, with 40 flaps, nose wheel brakes, and heavy boots it stops like a turtle on sandpaper!
