Travel Adapter w/ USB
#22
I use an older version of this adapter. I picked it up at a Best Buy vending machine at an airport. It does the job you're looking for. It does require some support if you put too much weight on it though.

I use the Apple World kit for the MacBook. It includes a powerblock with a USB port. I've yet to stay in a room that didn't have at least one 120V outlet, so I plug the USB block into that and then use the adapters for the MacBook power block.

I'd like to pick up a new travel adapter with at least one USB port on it. Can anyone recommend an adapter that you can plug a standard US plug into AND supply power to the USB outlet at the same time?
ie Macbook and iPhone (don't want to have to charge the iPhone thru the Macbook) at the same time.
Thanks!

I've combined what everyone has said, and found something that might work:
PowerCurve Mobile Surge Protector Plug, w/2 USB Ports, 2 Outlet, Gray, 360 Electrical, 36051-011

Plugbug with small adapter works for me.

With that set-up, why not just plug your iphone (ipad, USB devise) into the USB port on your computer?

I use this Amazon.com: Plugable USB 2.0 4 Port Hub and BC 1.1 Fast Charger with 2.5 Amp Power Adapter: Computers & Accessories
with this Amazon.com: TP-LINK IEEE 802.11n, IEEE 802.11g, IEEE 802.11b 150Mbps Wireless N Nano Router (TL-WR702N): Computers & Accessories
then i can charge tablet and phone at the same time as having my own router running. You need the simple adapter for Europe (two round plugs) but the flat prongs fit most of the world in the 220 and 110 environment. Small and all in all fits in a ziploc nicely.

Sometimes you don't want to sync or might be using the the ports for something else, i.e., USB to ethernet and or usb to HDMI, etc. I like to use one port for an external hard drive and the other to HDMI so I can watch movies, etc, in places like Almaty or Jeddah. Or sometimes use one port for ethernet and the other for HDMI so I can watch ball games.
