FedEx bid/passover seat lock

Hindsight is 20/20. If you spend all your time looking in the past, you're not going to enjoy your present. If you spend all your time worrying about some good deal somebody else got, when are you enjoying what you have. I promise you, the bad deal you have here at FDX is an outstanding deal to people "Senior" to you at other companies. Shoot, if you need to feel good about yourself, think how much better you have it than those poor guys furloughed at UPS.
There but for the Grace of God go I.
And, whether Age 60 was a good thing depends a heck of a lot on what airline you were at, whether they still had a pension, and your age. I have a few friends who retired at 60 as career FOs, not by choice.
It's my opinion that since ICAO standards broke the dam on Age 60--it was a matter of time. Would I have liked it to happen later, hugh betcha-because I'm all about me. Was I happy it changed for the bro's at US Air, Delta, NW, United. Well yeah, I was. Sucked to be me, but it gave them some more time to partially replace what they had "lost" to bankruptcy
Either way, life goes on. It's not something I can control, so why should I sit in a dark corner muttering to myself about how I got screwed. Why sit in the corner muttering "The Union" should have prevented the Company from canceling that seat bid to allow all of the Company old fogies the opportunity to bid a window seat.
Sometimes bad things happen to good people
and Life Goes ON. I've lost way too many friends to plane crashes, and car crashes, and cancer to spend all my time sweating the little stuff.
So, hope for the best, plan for the worst.
Be happy with what you've got
Happiness is a choice
