Premium pay is for changes to your schedule, late arrival, that kind of thing.

I had 26k in late arrival in 2011 which put me close to 200k as a 5 year FO.

Could work out well for Fred, just maintain the status quo and kick the can down the road at the current rates.

Thread creep aside...

The USPS announcement is next month.

UPS at different levels of management is always looking towards the next jet.
Our 757s are having dispatch reliability issues. Probably from not enough utilization. But after our new 767s get all delivered, it's doubtful that UPS will buy new next time. So what can be converted? There seems to be zero interest in MDs. Also zero in A- whatevers. Which leaves 747-400s, and 777-200s.

My money is on used 777 conversions, which will not, I repeat not be replacement aircraft for our MDs.

Just what I hear from our ACPs.

my outsider, don't-know-jack-opinion, is 777's or 747-400's. Crews already trained and/or already existing training department and infrastructure and cost models for operation. I also think maybe 757 but if that is not the size for the job, I say 777's or 747-400s.

There is no 777 BCF. Boeing is supposedly looking at it, but the rumor is it would cost too much due to the floor.

The fact is all the above is nothing but wishful rumors. The only growth at ups will be in Davis's bank account. Move on nothing to see

Boeing is doing a lot more than looking at a 777 conversion. They're ready to make one. FWIW

They are/were ready to convert for FDX,. Bring your own jet and they will convert it at $30 million apiece due to having to replace the floor to be able to handle cargo loads. New ones made more sense.
