Good News!

Excess bid- all seats. Immediate parking of 727/MD-10/A310-200. Emergency Executive Order extending retirement to age 70.

They call me the ****-eyed optimist!

All kidding aside. My guess is nothing too exciting. Mostly 757 seats. Looks like no more 777 deliveries for awhile?

Gotta' man up the 57 in order to staff the 67!?

I thought we still were getting two a year after the deferrals for the arrival of the 767.

I thought we were done for six months or so. Haven't looked at the fleet plan for awhile.

1. The 767 orders will be put on hold till a FE panel can be put in the lav.

2. Age 75 is around the corner.

3. No more orange Scooby snacks to Nashville.

4. The 727's will remain but retrofitted with the Garmin G 1000 package and with HUD.

Heard it on the crew bus and verified on the limo ride in CYEG.

You mean excess bid 727 SO followed shortly thereafter by excess bid all CA and wide FO seats.

THEN vacancy bid.

Even without another age change I can see an excess bid for MEM A300 FO and MD11 FO.

All it takes is the following (not sure exactly when it would be triggered) :

- Loss of a significant portion of Postal contract
- Quick loss of all 727s
- Further reduction of Airbus 310s and MD10s

We all know management is not against using excess bids to get people to go where they want them. In this case it would be to the 777 and 757. Mostly 757.

Vacancy bid is one way to move us but it might not be their preferred choice this time.
