Not exactly mike.

From the contract:

"Passover pay due in accordance with Section 24.D.2., (and Section 11.M.18.d.), shall be paid on a monthly basis, in accordance with Section 3.E. Repayment of passover pay from pilots who do not activate in the crew position that generated the passover pay shall be exclusively limited to situations in which the pilot:

withdrew from training for the new crew position before such training began, other than as provided in Section 11.I.2.e. or Section 24.E.3.;
or
withdrew from training for the new crew position after such training began, other than as provided in Section 11.I.2.e.;

or in a subsequent posting, received a different intervening award to remain in his current position, or to a lower paying crew position than his current crew position;

or incurs a training cycle failure."

I added the bold text in the applicable section. The flexes aren't getting any special deal, the contract states that so long as they don't bid down to a lower paying seat or to their current seat on a subsequent posting, they don't have to pay it back. The same as anybody else on passover pay.

A lateral bid on a subsequent posting means no repayment of passover.

How many times is "current position" used in the entire CBA? Once... 'Crew position' is used 305 times, but I'm sure it means what you think it means and this was simply an oversight this one time and they managed to get it exactly correct the other 305 times. I'm also sure that the WB F/O Flex getting POP could bid to another WB F/O seat and not hear a word about POP repayment. Since the language was a little fuzzy, I just used the sample grid and the only examples where repayment wasn't required was where the new seat payed more that the 'current position'.

Since the FO positions weren't filled, should we be expecting an excess bid off the 727?

I've heard rumblings of an excess off the MD and bus as well on the upcoming "April" bid. Anyone have any insight?

LAG,
I can't remember from the SIG notes... in which fleets are BLG's being bought-up?

I'd say the fleets in question are the older Airbii and the MD10's. They're both subject to the changes in the postal contract. 757 and 777 are not going to change, and the MD11 has found a niche. 727 is a dead man walking.
