Default FDX: International Hotel in Lieu of Deadhead

Any recommendations for figuring out what the actual perdiem/contract hotel cost are for different cities for IHDH? I am trying to figure it out through the International tab on the Expense Report, but get stuck at "Select Lodging Records", which I don't yet have.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I'm confused by your question.

If you want the contract hotel rates for various cities, click on "contract hotel rates" on the left side of the expense report home page.

If you want to know what the hotel is actually going to charge you, you need to call and ask.

Do you also have a question about perdiem or is that referring to the daily hotel cost?

Adler,

Thanks man, you always have good answers. I knew I worded my question ambiguously. Yep, also curious as to how much perdiem I would get from IHDH on a specific trip? (dependent on the actual layover cities correct?)

No.
International perdiem is currently $2.95 per hour regardless of the city (just has to be outside the lower 48). Actual trip perdiem can be figured by multiplying TAFB by 2.95. The estimate for perdiem you'll be able to claim between trips during the hotel in lieu of time would be based on the same math, just using the time between trips.

Someone can jump in if I'm off base, but I think you just claim "x" days of perdiem when you file your expense report and the system figures out the rest. It's been a while since I did a hotel in lieu of.

Hope that helps.

International Hotel in Lieu of Deadhead per diem is the State Department's per diem rate, not our contract PD. It can be as high as $175++/ day. Also, you get the highest of the Gateway City contract hotel rate (last layover city on your pairing before going back to the States) . Example; we have 5 hotels in Paris, whichever hotel has the highest rate is what you'll be able to use. Contract rate does not include the hotel tax which you're able to get credit for. Remember, if you use this option, your deadhead ticket goes into a mini-bank and you cannot use what is left over for airline travel.
