IAD to DC Downtown
#2
Bus, Metro, taxi ...
I've never done it myself, but ...
You can take the Washington Flyer Bus from the pax terminal to the West Falls Church Metro Station ($10 one way I think?) and then the subway to your destination (although you didn't say where that was?).
Washington Flyer Bus
If you're traveling on the company account, I'd just take a taxi ... probably about $65 to downtown. Notice it's the same website above for the Washington Flyer Taxi
Hope this helps ...

The toughest part about IAD is that there isn't an easy way to get over to the main terminal to catch the Bus/Metro combo (not the flyer). If you can get a ride to the terminal the Bus/Metro combo will only run you about $10 total. The Bus takes you to the Roslyn Metro transfer station....from there the city is yours.
Another option is to call the same GT Fedex uses @ (703) 926-5679. I've never used them (only because of my inability to plan ahead) but even if its the same price as the Flyer it will be a much nicer limo. I've talked with them and they will drive you pretty much anywhere in the DC area from IAD and back.
Enjoy one of the best cities in America!

Used to use the Washington Flyer/Metro combo instead of having a car for a while when I was based out of IAD. Its really easy but I would recommend downloading the Metro App for iphone or Android as they will plan your metro ride, tell you how much it costs and tell you when the next train is coming.

At the cargo terminal, call the Washington Flyer Taxi (703-661-6655) and they will pick you up at the cargo area and drop you off at the terminal. The bus is easy (Curb 2E, 6 bucks, comes every 45 or so minutes). Keep in mind it drops you off at Rosslyn and at L'Enfant Plaza, so depending on where you are going you may want to stay on the bus. PM me with your email address, as I have typed out directions and tips for friends.

Left out of the FedEx facility for one block, then jog right and take a left for about 200 yds to the rental car facility, get on their bus with the rental car returners and ride to the terminal. Couple of bucks tip to the driver and you're there!
