Default Training on a string of R days...FDX

I've done this several times in the past, but, not recently.
I bid a 15 day string of R days in Dec, then bid my 2 day training right in the middle of it which is supposed to drop the entire string of R days and give me 72 hrs of carry in conflict.
Looked at my sked today and they only dropped 4 days in the middle...did something change or did I just screw myself in December?

probably not done yet as the the person who awards the training bid is most likely not the same person that "drops" all of your r days. If you did not "split" the block then you will not have them dropped, if you have r days still on either side of the training then they will be dropped, wait until the end of the day and if not done I would call the PAC first thing tomorrow.

Ok, we'll, I got worried because usually they do it all at once. I did find it in the contract, just in case they tried to pull a fast one.

25.11.C.f.ii

If the pilot’s recurrent training splits a block of R-days, then the entire block shall be dropped as a phase-in conflict and the pilot shall not be responsible for any of the R-days in that block.

Thanks 2CD

one question, your continuous "block" is not comprised of carry in r days into new month and r days in the DEC month is it? If so they look at each one as a separate block even if they touch from what I understand.

I think 2Cylinder is on the right track. I got burned on that a couple years ago. Had 5 carry in RA days from July to August, then awarded A RSV the first 15 days of August. Looked like "one continuous block of R days" to me, but scheds views it as 2 separate blocks - one from the July period and one from the August period, even though it was 15 consecutive days of RA. They only dropped my 10 day block from the August bid (the company dropped the first 5 August R days due to phase in conflict); I "got" to keep the 5 days from July that carried into August. Called the union and was told, in a slightly British accent, that in the company view those are two separate blocks and there was nothing that could be done about it.

I suspect something similar in your case. I have never seen them come back and revisit any kind of schedule conflict. If it's still on your calendar there is probably a reason, however bogus it might be. Good luck.

Oh yeah pls let us know how it turns out for you. I use this technique myself every 6 months and am interested in any new "interpretations" they may have.

No, they are right in the middle, 12-26th. It looks like I just need to wait until later today. The past few times I did this, all the R days were gone when I woke up and checked VIPs.

When you say "planner" what department as in phone number is that under. I am in the same boat. We should not have to go thru this....

I think they are referring to crew planning and analysis. It is option #2 on the scheduling number.
