In the options settings you can set it up to send you a text msg when you get a new email.

Upper right corner of Outlook Webmail screen (under your name):

click - Options (opens drop-down menu)

click - See All Options..... (takes you to a different page/screen)

on the left side of this new page - click Phone

just to the right, you should see "Mobile Phones" & "Text Messaging" icons - click on Text Messaging

intuitive from there - even on an iPad
